Vera joined CBS-INO in October 2014 as a PostDoc in Economics of Entrepreneurship. She finished her PhD in Economics at the University of Porto (School of Economics and Management, FEP), Portugal, in September 2014, with the thesis “Entrepreneurship Dynamics: Entry, Survival, and Firm Growth”.

Her main research interests are focused on the dynamics of entrepreneurs and their firms. She has been studying the diversity of choices associated with entrepreneurial entry and exit, the determinants of choosing and leaving an entrepreneurial career, and the post-entry dynamics of start-up firms, using matched employer-employee data.

Vera is also interested in Higher Education topics, such as the competitive behavior of Higher Education Institutions, funding diversification, higher education mergers, and efficiency in the Higher Education sector.
