The Department of Economics and the Department of Finance are pleased to announce that CEO of PensionDanmark Torben Möger Pedersen, MSc in Economics, will be appointed adjunct professor at CBS.

Torben Möger Pedersen is the CEO of PensionDanmark, a position he has held for more than 25 years. PensionDanmark is one of Denmark’s biggest pension funds with nearly 700.000 members and total assets of 30 bn Euro.

In addition to his executive position, Torben Möger Pedersen has a long and vast experience as member of several boards, among others Forsikring&Pension (1996-), Arbejdernes Landsbank (2012-), Danish Society for Education and Business (2012-, chairman 2016-), Symbionfonden (2014-). INDEX: Design to Improve Life (2016-), The Foreign Policy Society (2017-) and Aalborg University (2017-). Moreover, Torben Möger Pedersen is a board member of several investment funds, including Copenhagen Infrastructure Funds (2012-), Danish Climate Investment Fund (2014-) and Danish Agribusiness Fund (2016-).

Torben Möger Pedersen has a strong international profile within his areas of expertise. He is a member of OECD’s Working Group on Long-Term Investments (2010-), a board member of Investment Leaders Group (2013-16), a member of Private Sector Advisory Group within the UN’s Green Climate Fund (2014-); a member of the Global Agenda Council on Investments in World Economic Forum (2014-) and a member of Steering Committee of World Economic Forum’s Retirement Investment System Reform Project (2016-); member of the Advisory Board in OECD’s Centre on Green Finance and Investment (2016-) and a member of the UN Global Compacts Financial Innovation Action Platform (2017-).

Torben Möger Pedersen has continuously contributed to CBS and the Department of Finance and the Department of Economics. First and foremost, he was a co-founder of the Pension Research Centre (PeRCent), and he is a member of PeRCent’s advisory board, where he plays a very active role in terms of fundraising, shaping the centre’s research profile etc. Additionally, he was member of the corps of external examiners for several years, engaged in bachelor, masters as well as HD programmes. Since 2015 he has served as a faculty member at “Bestyrelsesuddannelserne”, CBS’ Board Leadership Programmes. Furthermore Torben Möger Pedersen served as an active board member of the CBS-based Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR) from 2004-2009. He is a co-founder and board member of the Board Leadership Society associated with CBS Executive. Finally, Torben Möger Pedersen is a member of the advisory board set up in connection to CBS’ 100 year anniversary in 2017.

The formal appointment of Torben Möger Pedersen will take place on October 3, 2017 at his inaugural lecture. The appointment as adjunct professor at CBS is for a five-year period. The inaugural lecture of Torben Möger Pedersen is open to the public and the program will be announced on the websites of the Department of Finance and the Department of Economics.
