The article ‘What Is the Expected Return on a Stock?’ by Christian Wagner, associate member of the FRIC Center, has won a distinguished paper prize in the Dimensional Fund Advisors Group Prizes 2019.

This year’s distinguished paper prize is awarded by the Dimensional Fund Advisors Prizes and it is given annually for the top three papers in The Journal of Finance in any area other than corporate finance. The winning papers are chosen by the Associate Editors of The Journal of Finance and the amounts of the prizes are $25,000 for first prize and $10,000 each for two distinguished papers.

The prize was awarded at the AFA's annual meeting in San Diego in the beginning of January 2020. The Journal of Finance is widely regarded as one of the world's top three journals in finance.

Last year another paper by FRIC member Lasse Heje Pedersen (co-authored with Nicolae Garleanu) won a prize at the AFA Conference: namely the Journal of Finance's Brattle Distinguished Paper Prize 2018.
