Pension Fund Investment

Implications for the Real Economy

An increasing number of countries are instituting funded pension arrangements. This will lead pension funds,
already one of the largest groups of asset owners in the world, to become even more important.
Against this background, this thesis investigates the trading behaviour of Danish pension funds, as well as the
effects of their domestic investments on the productivity and innovation activities of Danish firms. It provides
insights into the impact pension funds can have on the real economy.
