Jan Damsgaard, Professor and Head of the Department of IT Management, has been appointed member of a new digital advisory panel. The Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) has established a panel of digital advisers (Digitale Vismænd) with the purpose of qualifying the IT debate in Denmark.

In a press release, the new digital advisory panel states that they wish to publish an annual report about the "digital state of the country" and "continuously contribute to the debate and to decision makers based on the condition that digital solutions are central parts of technology development and not just fancy tools." Themes such as the Danish debit card system "Dankort", Nem ID (common secure internet login), public IT investment and business digitalisation will be treated by the panel in future.

Chairman of the panel will be Ole Lehmann Madsen from the Alexandra Institute. The panel will consist of 11 members, 9 of which are professors at Danish universities.
