This PhD project focuses on large Danish companies’ simultaneous use of an array of management control systems. Literature on management control systems frameworks is analyzed, discussed and used as a basis for an empirical investigation of executive managements’ use of multiple management control systems to guide and direct their subordinates in the best interest of their companies.
