Pedro Telles was interviewed by the Financial Times

Last week Pedro Telles, Associate professor at CBS, was interviewed by the Financial Times, regarding how the pressure grows on government to reinstate competitive tendering rules revoked at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pedro Telles said the “vast majority” of contracts awarded in the past year in the UK in connection with COVID-19 were probably illegal given the restrictive nature of the 2015 Public Contract Regulations, which allow contracts to be awarded without any competition only when it is of strict necessity, or an extreme emergency due to “unforeseeable” events.
