Growth through transfer of ownership in Danish owner-managed companies (Ejerskifte i virksomheder)

Abstract:

Most Danish companies are owner-managed. Research has shown that these companies do not live up to their full potential and that e.g. transfers of ownership are not optimally conducted. Hence, there is a great, untapped potential for increasing productivity and growth, which can be tapped into by professionalizing the owners’ management generally and specifically when preparing for a transfer of ownership. This project contributes to the productivity, competitive performance, and growth through professionalizing ownership transfers. The project is embedded in a unique international knowledge environment, CBS Center for Owner-Managed Businesses, which secures a lasting connection to knowledge and effects in Denmark.
