Driving Digital Transformation with Organizational Development and Change Practices


Abstract:

Digital transformation is a strategic imperative for today’s businesses. The massivescale of digital offerings and the growing network between people, digital devices,and systems change the circumstances under which organizations and theirmembers innovate and operate. Therefore, the organizational capacity toaccomplish successful digital transformation is more than ever a critical dynamiccapability required for gaining a competitive edge and enduring business resilience.Yet, digital transformation is often obstructed by challenges related to the workpractice and social fabric of the organization. The proposed PhD project--developing tools for fostering digital transformation in legacy organizations, suchas Danish Crown—is a scholarly challenge with practical implications to industry.On a national level, digital transformation is expected to have a positive effect onproductivity and GDP through job creation, business innovation and workforcetransformation.
