For the first time ever, 5 student organizations at CBS and CBS PRME have come together with CBS staff and faculty to create a platform for sustainable solutions for a greener CBS campus!

With a shared interest in increasing expectations to universities as role models for sustainable solutions, oikos, Student & Innovation House, CBS Case Club, Marketing Lab, Feminist Society and CBS PRME have come together to raise the bar on how CBS students, faculty and staff together can create a greener campus. The project has resulted in a two-day sustainable campus hackathon inviting 60 students from Danish universities to work on sustainable solutions to 4 defined sustainability challenges at CBS being diversity and inclusion, healthy and sustainable food, green infrastructure and human well-being. The challenges have been developed in collaboration with CBS staff in order to ensure the topics are real challenges at CBS. During the two-day hackathon., the student teams will also have the chance to get inputs and consulting from CBS staff e.g. CBS Estate, Spisestuerne etc. to get feasible and useful solutions.

The hackathon will be held 17.-18. November. Flemming Besenbacher, Chairman of Carlsberg A/S and the Tuborg Foundation will kick start the event with an opening speech followed by Ida Auken who will provide an inspirational talk to kick start the event. The second day, the students will present their solutions in front of a prominent jury panel consisting of experts in the field of sustainability from academia and corporate. The Finale will be open for all interested and will be< at Solbjerg Plads 18. November.

The winning team will be sent to the UN PRME headquarters in New York to present their winning solution to inspire other universities. It is the ambition of the project that a task force will work on the implementation of the winning solution to start the journey of the sustainable transition of CBS campus.
