It’s been one year since the lockdown brought by the COVID-19 pandemic changed our workplaces overnight. While many are still debating whether COVID-19 is a “black swan”—an environmental disruption that is an unpredictable and has an extreme impact, the widespread lockdown introduced to address the pandemic has already started redefining how organizations function. What have we learnt from the lockdown experience?

Already in March 2020, researchers at the Department of Strategy and Innovation embarked on several COVID-19 related research projects. While it is too early to talk about “lessons learned,” it may be the right time to start turning the spotlight toward what we learnt about organizational responses during this crisis.
