A Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at CBS recommended for funding

The Executive Agency of for the Jean Monnet Programme under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme has announced that an application submitted by Susana Borrás for a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence is recommended for funding.

The creation of the Centre of Excellence is a joint effort of several departments at CBS in order to strengthen and to enhance the visibility of EU studies in business-related aspects, serving as a crucial national and international centre for that purpose. The involved CBS units are: The International Centre for Business and Politics (CBP), The Department of International Economics and Management (IKL), The Department of Economics (ECON), The Law Department (LAW), The Department of Intercultural Communication and Management (IKK) and The Centre for the Study of Europe (CEF).

The objectives are to:

  • Expand the business perspective in EU studies

  • Develop cutting-edge research

  • Consolidate education and dissemination activities about the EU in Denmark,

  • Stimulate interdisciplinary research (political science, business administration, economics, law, and history)

Its outputs will be:

  • A series of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses

  • A database of case studies on business in the EU, for teaching purposes

  • The arrangement of 1 large conference

  • The arrangement of 2 research workshops,

  • The arrangement of 30 seminars: 6 seminars in each of the 5 themes of the Centre of Excellence

  • A website with updated information for business students on EU

  • A significant number of research publications gathered into 3 proceedings (the conference and the research workshops)
