The Doctoral School’s PhD program for Organizational Analyses at the Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology has received DKK 1.6m to quality advancement from the Danish Council for Independent Research.

“The Doctoral School focuses on analyses of organizations and organizational processes seen from a sociological and socio-psychological perspective and has a strong tradition in anchoring theoretical analyses in studies of concrete private and public volunteer organizations”, says leader of the Doctoral School, Professor Ann Westenholz.

The funding will primarily be used to attract international researchers to the DoctoralSchool’s courses.

The DoctoralSchool has since New Year 2004/2005 focused on:

  • Internationalization, i.e. to give the research fellows better options of joining international conferences and conduct research abroad as well as attracting the best international researchers to the courses at CBS.

  • Choice of courses in the Department’s research areas. The courses aim at those research fellows, who are enrolled at the DoctoralSchool, but also at other Danish and foreign research fellows.

  • Focus on the research fellows’ projects not only in the guidance, but also in the courses.
