Offered for the first time in Scandinavia

Several years of intensive groundwork has resulted in the selection of CBS as an official test site for the prestigious "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test" (JLPT). The test is approved by the Japanese Ministry of Education and is used for evaluation and certification of language qualifications for teachers, students and business people who have Japan as their core area.

The test is offered annually and takes place simultaneous around the world. Danes who in the past wanted to take the test, had to travel abroad to places like London or Berlin. Over the years many of the students of Japanese at CBS Asian Studies Programme have done so. The fact that the test is now available in Copenhagen can only be described as a landmark for Asia-related research in Denmark. CBS was selected to be the first and only test site in Scandinavia in close competition with universities in Sweden and Norway.

JLPT will be held at CBS for the first time 4 December 2005.
