CBS kick-starts project

Will the last morning newspaper be dead in 2014?

Very few industries are so strongly influenced by the internet and similar technologies, as newspapers, TV and the media industry are.

New developments of Google’s superior search engine, by bloggers, where everyone can write its own stories, and next generation’s internet provides unexpected possibilities of an individual to put together its own information channel.

In a provoking video (

see it here) it is expected that the last morning newspaper, as we know it, will be published in 2014 where the entire news coverage will be replaced by “EPIC – Evolving Personalized Information Construct”.

On this background, the Nordic Innovation Centre has financed a project with  participants from research institutions from the five Nordic countries and from a range of the leading media companies in the North.

The Danish part is handled by CBS’ Department of Informatics and from Denmark the newspaper Børsen also takes part as partner in the project. The project is kick-started on 25 November with a conference at CBS.
