The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) collects data and makes forecasts, analyses, and theme reports for individual countries as well as for geographical regions (e.g. Europe, Asia, and the Americas) and the world.

CBS Library has provided access to EIU data and analyses for many years, but with their recent launch of a redesigned interface, known as EIU Viewpoint, users can now navigate and collect data more smoothly than ever before.

Build reports

You can build your own reports via dropdown menus and tap into themed EIU reports with analyses on current topics and across geographies, such as Corona, Global goods and service trade, US/China competition, and Environment and sustainability.

Explore topics

In the Topics menu, you will find reports on five key EIU topics: Politics, Economy, Policy, Business environment, and Commodities. The Commodities section contains insights reports on a wide host of commodities. In the remaining four sections, you can filter contents by geography.

Use your own country to find out what to expect

Looking up a country or a topic that you know well will give you an idea of the kind of data you can expect from EIU Viewpoint, also when you endeavour into unknown terrain. Data can be exported as tables and graphs or to Excel. All tables and graphs are accompanied by information about the data sources.
