Essential Science Indicator (ESI) Contents

ESI is an analytical tool based on Web of Science citation count data covering 8.500 journals.

ESI allows you to rank (by number of articles, citations received. citations per article, etc.) and compare individuals, institutions (i.e. universities), countries, and journals across 22 scientific fields.

The 22 fields have been identified on the basis of a topical categorization of journals – NOT individual articles. Click to learn more about the definition of available fields.

Relevant CBS fields include ’Economics, Business’, ’Social Sciences, General’, and ‘Computer science’.

ESI is updated bimonthly and each update covers a 10-year (+2 months) window. Check current coverage.
