Fight the myths about gender at International Women's Day 2019
Do you recognise these myths about gender?:
“Organisations have no gendered norms".
“We are always hiring the best qualified candidates regardless of gender‘".
“Men are career-minded while women are more family-orientated".
Research has proven these myths wrong repeatedly; however, they still exist. How can we use knowledge of gender to challenge the myth of gender equality at the Danish labour market? Copenhagen Business School and KVINFO would like to invite you to a collaborative event on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2019.
The programme includes keynote speakers Sofie Carsten Nielsen, Danish politician at the Danish Social-Liberal Party, Nima Sophia Lama Tisdall, student at CBS, and Jeff Hearn, Professor of gender research, Hanken School of Economics and Örebro University.
Another highlight of the day will be the interactive GenderLAB in which participants actively produce new solutions to cases presented by Danish companies and organisations: Roskilde Festival, The Danish Defence and Copenhagen Business School. Spoken word performer Sara Rahmeh will do the warm-up.
The program is linked to KVINFO’s evening programme in VEGA later the same day.
The event is held in English and will be moderated by Miriam Zesler, TV2 News.

16:15 GenderLAB: Co-producing the solutions of 2019. Facilitated by Stina Teilmann-Lock, Associate Professor, CBS and Jannick Friis Christensen, PhD Research Fellow, CBS
In the GenderLAB we will collaborate on developing new ways to address challenges and tackle complex problems regarding gender equality on the Danish labor market. We combine norm-critical methods with design thinking to raise awareness, disrupt and transgress commonly held assumptions, unconscious biases, privileges, hidden norms and structures in order to identify new ways for organisations to tackle gender inequality.
