The Digitisation of Money is an exciting developing that people hope could have substantial positive effects on the economy. The expectation is that transaction costs fall further, shaving off billions in costs.

Other potential benefits might include the real-time monitoring of economic activity, making monetary and fiscal policy both accountable, and more effective. On the other hand, there is an entire array of risks and issues that need to be addressed.

What is the role of the (central)banks, how is liquidity provided in this market, how can payments be made more convenient and with it what will be the dominant technology and how can it be secured against being used for criminal activity. These are some of the questions which will need to be solved and which we will address in this event.
