Background and purpose
The Mexican Energy Reform (January 2014) is attracting increasing interest from business and political leaders. It is expected that new opportunities for public and private sectors in the development of Mexico’s energy sector. However, little has been discussed in relation to consultation with local communities, when developing megaprojects that might affect them.

The objective of this seminar is to present the Mexican Energy Reform, and discuss the relevance of the Convention 169 — International Labour Organisation (ILO), in relation to green-energy projects in Mexico.
