Implications of the US Inflation Reduction Act for Green Competitiveness in Denmark

April 18 at 16.00-17.00, CBS Kilen, KL.1.43

Should we celebrate the American IRA or does it create a distortion in the market?

In this panel debate we will be examining the American Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and its implications for Europe, the response of the European Commission to the IRA, and the potential opportunities for Danish and European companies.
Among other things the panelists will be discussing whether the IRA reflects a form of green neo-mercantilism that catches up to Europe's approach, whether the response of the European Commission to the IRA is appropriate, and how to avoid an arms' race on green industrial policy while still promoting sustainable growth and innovation.

Panelists

  • Lousie With, EU correspondent at Børsen Newspaper
  • Søren Adamsen, Executive Market Director at COWI
  • Peter Thagesen, Global Trade and Investment, DI

The Panel will be moderated by Cornel Ban, Associate Professor of International Political Economy, CBS
