Employee perceptions of ownership in financial mutuals

Abstract:

The background for this project is the ‘Ownership matters’ report that the Building Societies Association in the UK published in 2017 based on a survey of employees’ perception of various issues related to stakeholders and organisational culture in financial mutuals and organisations with other ownership forms, respectively. The findings from the UK are equally fascinating and important.This project aims to do a Danish version of the UK survey via Statistics Denmark’s survey office. Doing it via the national statistical office has some important benefits in terms of identifying an appropriate reference group of employees. The purpose of the project is to learn about these employee perceptions of ownership in financial mutuals in a Danish context and to make comparisons between UK and DK.
