A Human Work Interaction Design theorizing platform (HWID)

Abstract:

The purpose of this project is to internationalize and finalize a theoreticalframework for Human Work Interaction Design (HWID) based on 12 years ofresearch about the topic by the principal investigator and others. The psychological HWID framework from the Information Systems (IS) department at Copenhagen Business School will be compared and combined with sociological ‘Practice-Based Computing’ theory stemming from the University of Siegen, which is strong in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). With theorizing workshops we explore variations of the framework in combination with other theory. A consolidated HWID framework can function as a development platform for a multitude of analytical tools for socio-technical interventions in various work domains, take forward the explicit theory-building exercises, be helpful for an EU research application, and for an international PhD course. We aim to publish conference and IS journal papers.
