Q: Do I really need a minimum of three years of managerial experience to join?
A: We believe that the practical experiences of our participants enhance class discussions and form the required foundation for the accelerated leadership and general management development process. However, we do take other factors, such as individual assessment into account. Contact us to discuss your circumstances if you feel you would be a good fit but do not have the required experience.
Q: Is there any way to dispense with the formal requirements?
A: In rare circumstances the Associate Dean may grant a dispensation on your educational background. However, this requires evaluation on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to learn more about your options.
Q: What is the target group?
A: The program is designed for high achieving professionals aiming to develop personally or careerwise. The class caters for a wide range of academic backgrounds, for internationally oriented individuals, as well as a broad spectrum of industries.
Q: When does your MBA start?
A: You will have the choice to start the CBS Executive MBA starting in September 2020 (lasting 21 months) or in May (lasting 25 months). The Executive Certificate path will start in September 2020 with the Executive Certificate in General Management (lasting four months). OR with your choice of a Concentration in May 2021 (lasting two months).
Q: When is the application deadline?
A: Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis and applications are assessed on a continuous basis.

Q: Is it possible to join the CBS Executive MBA without a sponsoring company?
A: Certainly - if you can provide the necessary funding yourself. It is worth bearing in mind that you must be a full-time employee in order to join the program. And of course, you will need to have the acceptance and understanding of your employer that you will need to take time out to participate in the program.
Q: Is it possible to obtain a scholarship for the CBS Executive MBA?
A: No, tuition is paid either by the participant or their sponsoring company.
Q: Is it possible to finance the CBS Executive MBA through gross salary deductions / gross salary schemes?
A: Yes. With this scheme, the cost of tuition will come out of your gross salary before taxes. More information on the gross salary deduction scheme can be found on the Danish Tax Authorities' homepage here and here (in Danish).
Q: What is the emphasis of the CBS Executive MBA?
A: The CBS Executive MBA takes a general management and leadership perspective and prepares you to take on broader and a more holistic view on leadership. The program seeks to create value for you and your company from day one and this practice orientation means that what you learn will apply to your job right away. You will find that the assignments ensure immediate payback for you and your sponsoring organization.
Q: When are the classes and what is the duration of the program?
A: The CBS Executive MBA is a 21 or 25-month, part-time program.
The Execuitve Certificate path is a stepwise approach where you decide the pace and if you want to complete all four certificates to obtain the MBA degree.
Teaching takes place at CBS once a month, usually Wednesdays to Saturdays. International modules usually last a full week.
Q: How large are the classes?
A: We deliberately keep our classes small as we believe learning is more effective when it takes place in an innovative environment where communication is easy and frequent.
This focus encourages close links with faculty, high interaction and networking between class members, and personal attention from the class administration.
Q: How heavy is the workload?
A: For each module, you should expect to spend a total of approximately 15-20 hours on preparation.
Q: How do the in-company assignments work?
A: The purpose of the in-company assignments is to anchor the academic learning in the modules with the real-world environment of your own company. You select a relevant issue in your company and analyze it using the models, theories and tools learned during the course.
Q: Are the classes taught in English?
A: Yes, all courses are in English, reflecting the international mindset of the program. We always aim to create a class with participants from various functions, companies and countries to provide the very best learning experience.
Q: Do you follow the normal school holidays?
A: There will be no lectures during the Danish school holidays, except for the winter holidays. However, you may have assignments to prepare which overlap with some of the normal school holidays.
Q: Do you require Executive MBA applicants to take an admission test?
A: Yes, applicants will be invited to take the CBS Admission Test, if the applicant has not already taken the GMAT [Graduate Management Admission Test]), the GMAC Executive Assessment or the GRE.
Q: What does the CBS Admission Test involve?
A: The CBS Admission Test is an online multiple-choice test on business competencies. It is used to assess your verbal and numerical skills and work out if you need to take any preparatory courses prior to the start of the programme. To prepare, you can do practice tests.
Q: Where do the Executive MBA classes take place?
A: Modules will be taught in Denmark, Germany, the UK, China, the US and India.
All modules in Denmark take place on our campus at Porcelænshaven, located just seven minutes from central Copenhagen and next to the metro station, Fasanvej, the CBS campus is easy to reach.
Travel times to CBS Porcelænshaven Campus are: from Copenhagen Airport - 20 minutes. From Roskilde - 38 minutes. From Odense - 1 hour 40 minutes. From Aarhus - 3 hours 20 minutes. From Malmö C (Sweden) - 45 minutes.
