As his role as the first Executive in Residence at CBS, Thomas F. Borgen took the time to meet with 10 of CBS’ full-time MBA students for an exclusive mentor meeting, where the Danske Bank CEO gave his insight on what it takes to lead a large-scale financial institution through the ongoing change in the financial industry.

The mentor meeting thrived with an inspirational dialogue on topics ranging from leadership, the global financial market to Borgen’s view on sustainability, keeping customer focus and work-life balance as a CEO.

The mentor meeting was an exclusive opportunity for the MBA students to combine theory, concepts and managerial decision making with real-life insight,

““Initially, it was a bit daunting to start conversing with Thomas, but it soon became apparent that he was approachable and pleasant,” said participating MBA student Wayne Yang, “My favorite part of the meeting was when he stood up, walked to the board and illustrated his points by drawing pictures. I really felt at that point that Thomas was engaged in our conversation!”

We had the opportunity to speak to some of the MBA students after the mentor meeting, where they shared their thoughts on how the mentor meeting was beneficial for them.
