"The dreams will be our compass"

The seven students from the Copenhagen Business School's (CBS) Blue MBA programme that ShippingWatch has been following in 2012 and 2013 have now received their MA degrees in shipping and logistics. The event was celebrated at CBS this weekend. "The dreams will be our compass," said the class.

There was an employer from Korea. A wife from Nigeria. Colleagues from central Copenhagen. And 37 MAs in shipping and logistics, one of them from Hvide Sande, Denmark.

So it was a colorful scene at the Copenhagen Business School when the Blue MBA Class of 2013 this weekend celebrated that the class, which began in 2011, has now finally graduated and received its diplomas.

Speeches were given by, among others, the CEO of the Danish Maritime Authority, Andreas Nordseth, and not least by the students themselves, where the overall message was that "the dreams will be our compass."

ShippingWatch has followed seven of the students on the road to graduation. One of those is Christian Boas Holm, managing director of Hull Blyth in Nigeria, who in his speech emphasized the fact that the students considered the programme in 2010, began their studies in 2011, and graduated in August 2013.

"We started during the crisis, where everyone was wondering what's going to happen. Now we're entering a phase where the focus is on rebuilding. I'm sure this programme has given us a clearer and more critical perspective on things, " he said.

The programme was a challenge to all of the students, especially those who've been working far away from Copenhagen, such as CEO of Ultratug, Chile, Matthias Reinarz.

During the last two years, the seven students agree that the programme has advanced them a great deal, and several of them have seen their careers advance significantly during this time.

The next Blue MBA class will begin next week. To find out more, please contact Programme Director Irene Rosberg on E: ir.mbs@cbs.dk , P: +45 3815 6007.
