Join our open day event and make the right decision

- Open day event at CBS

02/08/2010

Meeting students and teachers and learning about life as a CBS student – the opportunity is yours on 11 February when we open the doors to Bachelor Open Day.

High attendance

CBS expects that approx 2,000 people will show, and most of them will usually turn up in small groups. Some share an interest in the same degree programmes; others bring a friend or girlfriend for moral support. Compared to other educational institutions, CBS has a fair number of students from the business colleges, but the majority of our students have the traditional Danish upper secondary education. A lot of the students have one or two parents working in the private sector. The majority keeps the future career in mind when deciding, but some adopt a different approach. They identify the job of their dreams and use Open Day to enquire as to how to reach their goal.

Balancing expectations

- It is not about getting as many students as possible. It is about getting the right students to join the right degree programmes. We do not just tell the potential students about the positive aspects; we also mention the potential challenges. We balance their expectations, says Student Guidance Officer Thomas Gylling, CBS. He encourages potential students to go to other open day events as well giving them the best possible basis for decision-making.

The vast majority of our new students have been to an open day event – it is an exciting and hands-on experience that will help them make the right decision as regards their future degree programme, says Thomas Gylling
