Motivation can be lost for several reasons. In a new book Motivation i organisationer (Motivation in Organisations) the anatomy of motivation is mapped out.

Peter Holdt Christensen, Associate Professor at the Department of Strategic Management and Globalization at Copenhagen Business School, has written this new book aimed at people with HR or management responsibilities.

The book gives an overview of how the management of an organisation influences the motivation of the employee.

Different assignments, different types of motivation
In his book, Peter Holdt Christensen discusses how different job assignments, as for instance creative or predictable assignments need different types of motivation. But if the outcome of the employee’s contribution is difficult to see, he or she might risk losing motivation.

The author underlines that having a motivated college needs a collective effort from the organisation – the individual is not the only one who is responsible.
