Established in 1992, The International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) has become the most prominent international academic community of scholars with an interest in maritime economics and business, including ports, shipping and hinterland transport. The main event is the Annual Conference, which is held in various places and brings together researchers and professionals from all over the world.
CBS Maritime PhD fellows Stefan Kirkegaard Sløk-Madsen, Frederik Regli attended the conference together with Director of the Blue MBA, Irene Rosberg. The two maritime PhD´s presented their research as did maritime PhD fellow Enrico Lobrigo.
Also papers by CBS Maritime researchers, Associate Professor Günter Prockl and Dr. Hans-Joachim Schramm from the Department of Operations Management were presented at the IAME 2017.
PhD fellow Stefan Kirkegaard Sløk-Madsen, states about the conference in Kyoto:
- Attending the IAME-conference is an opportunity to present and receive valuable feedback on your PhD work from an international audience of leading maritime scholars in addition to business leaders, government officials and other influential decision-makers from across the maritime industry. At IAME 2017, Stefan presented his paper entitled “Commercial Capabilities and Entrepreneurial Value Capturing in Dynamic Maritime Markets: The Case of North Sea Oil Service Companies.”
He is supplemented by his colleague PhD fellow Frederik Regli (Department of Finance) who also attended the conference:
- Besides giving the opportunity to present our ongoing PhD research, the IAME Annual Conference is a forum that brings together the leading maritime research community and maritime decision-makers to discuss current challenges and research. We hope to also have been representing CBS´ broad range of well-established maritime research and teaching, that covers the whole spectrum from bachelor to MBA, says Frederik Regli. At the conference, Frederik presented the paper entitled: “AN AIS Based Model of Short-Term VLCC Freight Rates”
