The Copenhagen MBA ranked 3rd globally in Better World MBA Rankings

We are proud to share that the Copenhagen MBA has been recognised as the third best MBA programme globally in Corporate Knights’ Better World MBA Rankings.

10/09/2015

The rankings, released on 9 October 2015, is the only ranking in the world currently evaluating ESG (environmental, social and governance) metrics in graduate business programmes, and aims to identify which MBAs best equips graduates to change the world for the better.

Sustainability has been one of the pillars of the Copenhagen MBA for many years but for the current class, the focus has deepened into a full responsible management theme, which is at the heart of the entire MBA year.

“Being recognised as one of the best MBAs in the world when it comes to educating responsible leaders is an acknowledgement that means a great deal to us,” says Poul Hedegaard, MBA director at Copenhagen Business Schools. “Responsible management is not just a leadership style. It also demands the practical know-how needed to predict how financial planning and reporting are impacted, or how to implement and communicate a CSR plan to stakeholders. We as a business school can equip future leaders with the necessary hard business skills to do this successfully.”

Business schools were assessed on three indicators: curriculum, institutes and centers and faculty research. Final rank depends on how well the MBA programme integrates social and environmental issues into the core courses; the number of research centers and institutes dedicated to sustainability across the business school; and the volume of faculty research on sustainability-related topics. Participating schools were the 100 schools from the 2015 Financial Times Global MBA Ranking as well as a select number of schools with a proven track record in business sustainability education.

Michael Yow, Director of Research for Corporate Knights, comments:

“Visionary business schools are the ones which dedicate ample resources towards sustainability business research and spare no effort in transmitting this knowledge to their graduates. With above average performance across all these metrics, Copenhagen Business School is clearly a business school for a better world, one others should aspire to.”
