Choose to be part of CBS

This year's study start campaign welcomes all new students to CBS with the hope that they will involve themselves both socially and academically. We do this by drawing attention to the possibilities for making choices in their daily life, under the heading "Choose to".

With "Choose to", CBS focuses on the fact that the new students, help create their own student life via the micro-choices they make – do they say hi to the student next to them in class or are they curious about the many student organisations at CBS. At the same time, we state that they do not necessarily have to choose to participate in all the offers that are available but can choose on and off according to what they want, what they need and what they can overcome.

Students voice their worries

We know that the new students often worry: "Do I fit in?", "Will I make any friends?", "Can I keep up academically?" are typical questions. Therefore, with the campaign, we show the many different opportunities students have to become part of the communities at CBS, both socially and professionally. We do this through a mixture of quotes and photos from students who tell how they themselves have coped with the challenges they faced as new students at CBS. Quotes that as new students they can reflect on and that show them how - through many, small choices in their daily life – they can help shape your student life. The quotes are supplemented by a series of messages, where we use photos from campus to illustrate that CBS is much more than just the place where students will receive education. There is room on campus for them to be who they are, with the needs they have.

CBS is there for the students

Part of the campaign is also to tell students where to get help at CBS if needed. With "Choose to ask for help" showing via photos and quotes from the Student Hub and the student guidance counsellors where students should go if they need help with anything from wondering over study doubts, help with a disability or harassment.

"Choose to" and CBS' strategy

The campaign also ties in with CBS' strategy and has a particular focus on the principles of Nordic Nine. As new students, they must learn to take responsibility, be critical and become their own person. It requires consideration and good choices. The campaign supports the Nordic Nine in two ways: Both indirectly as part of the quotes, which include encourages to be curious, constructive, open to learning and to act when required, and directly with references to the individual Nordic Nine principles printed on parts of the campaign material.

 The campaign in practice

Quotes and messages we present will be presented on banners, posters, my.cbs.dk, study start guide T-shirts, campus screens and CBS' social media in weeks 35 and 36. In addition, "Choose to" will also be the concept that ‘CBS Students’ will use for their events on campus in weeks 36 to 38.
