Going digital at the world’s most sustainable company by Chr. Hansen

Many of the world’s biggest cheese producers are Chr. Hansen customers, and they use our natural bacteria to transform milk into cheese. However, when viruses attack that bacteria, the milk does not transform, and the dairy must dispose of the milk, which wastes food, time, and money. Chr. Hansen developed a digital service that monitors the milk in order to decrease the likelihood of these attacks, meaning our customers can produce more food out of the same amount of resources and provide more financial stability to farmers.

Since its founding in 1874, Chr. Hansen has focused on natural solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries. As a result of our commitment to developing products that help achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, we were named the world’s most sustainable company at the 2019 World Economic Forum. This session will focus on one of the digital technologies we developed to ensure our customers make better use of the world’s resources.

We look forward to meeting you and discussing how a 145-year old company is using digital technology to make the world a healthier, more sustainable place.

Changing an industry by A.P. Moller-Maersk

Learn about how the world’s largest container logistics company uses technology to create E2E visibility on cargo and reduce its CO2 footprint.

As a consumer, we are used to have track and trace of shipment on parcels in our private life. In container logistics, this is not so simple and wide spread and customers often have to settle for less visibility into how cargo is shipped, how it is doing along the way and when it arrives, – a lot less. Maersk is changing that through widespread investments in new technologies that enable visibility across the full supply chain.

Reducing CO2 emission is central to Maersk - ambitions only recently reiterated at the UN Climate summit. In an attempt to drive down bunker (vessel fuel) consumption, the company invests heavily in equipment and sensors that enables its fleet to optimize in real time – even at deep sea.
