The Copenhagen MBA retains its top 15 status in Corporate Knights’ Better World MBA ranking

Every year, Corporate Knights – the voice for clean capitalism - recognises the world’s best business schools when it comes to teaching sustainable business practices and educating leaders for a better world. The Copenhagen MBA has long featured among their top programmes thanks to Copenhagen Business School’s efforts to be a leader in the field of sustainable business practices.

“Business as usual is no longer a viable option,” says Andreas Rasche, Associate Dean for the Copenhagen MBA. “Corporate sustainability is becoming part of mainstream business thinking and students need to be able to understand its power in order to create positive change.”

To determine the ranking, Corporate Knights evaluated 146 business schools (up from 141 in 2018), including all of the 2019 Financial Times top 100 MBA programmes, every programme that made the Top 40 in the Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking in 2018, and select business programmes accredited by AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS, and Principles for Responsible Management Education signatories.

“As the climate emergency alarm bell sounds and social tensions threaten to unravel the compact on which capitalism depends, The Better World Business Schools are at the forefront of a sea change in business education focused on preparing tomorrow’s business leaders to be a force for good,” says Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights.

The Copenhagen MBA is well placed for students to immerse themselves in sustainable living.

“Copenhagen is world-renowned for leading the sustainability agenda in areas such as transportation and energy. The city sets the standard for low-emission living since most inhabitants use their bikes to get around be it winter or summer,” comments Poul Hedegaard, MBA Director at Copenhagen Business School. “Living in a city that embraces sustainability and innovation are part of the experience and creates an enriching backdrop for the MBA journey.”

The ranking was released on 8 November 2019 and represents the 17th annual ranking release from Corporate Knights. To view the full ranking, please visit Corporate Knights.
