Copenhagen QS Global MBA Ranking 2019

On 25 September 2018, QS Top MBA released their annual Global MBA Ranking, revealing that the Copenhagen MBA has been placed among the top 15 programmes in Europe. On the global market, the Copenhagen MBA also fares well, achieving place 31 in the ranking.

Employability makes up the bulk of the rankings weight at 40%, followed by return on investment (20%), entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes (15%), thought leadership (15%) and diversity (10%). A total of 251 programmes from varying corners of the globe participated in the QS 2019 Global MBA Rankings.

The Copenhagen MBA ranks particularly well in the area ‘employability', scoring exceptionally well when it comes to the school’s reputation among employers.

“Our ultimate goal is of course to equip our students with hands-on, usable business skills, and supply the job market with strategic thinkers ready to take on leadership challenges in the future,” says Poul Hedegaard, MBA Director at Copenhagen Business School. “Employers ultimately evaluate how well we perform in this arena, so it is reassuring to see that our MBA graduates are flying the flag on the job market.”

The Copenhagen MBA and CBS also hold a high reputation among their academic peers, demonstrated by the high score in the ‘thought leadership’ category. ‘Diversity’ is another area in which the programme performs above the global mean, succeeding in its quest to create a highly international and diverse MBA environment in a relatively small cohort. When it comes the attracting women, the programme exceeds the global average of 39%, displaying 41% in the surveyed class.

“I have observed time and time again how being part of an MBA class that comprises 20 nationalities and a vast array of backgrounds and functional experience adds immense value to the MBA experience,” says Gitte Kramhøft Jakobsen, Programme Manager for the Copenhagen MBA. “It is imperative to learn how to function in a global team in order to lead one. Picking up those skills is a vital component of the MBA experience.”
