QS Global MBA Ranking again recognises the Copenhagen MBA one of the best in Europe
The Copenhagen MBA performed very well in the categories employability, academic reputation and student nationalities.
The annual QS Global MBA Ranking has yet again recognised the Copenhagen MBA one of the best in Europe, awarding the programme place #12. Overall, the programme climbed four places, achieving a global rank of 26. The 2020 ranking evaluates MBA programmes based on employability, return on investment, thought leadership, alumni outcomes and diversity. Out of these, the area ‘employability’ carries most weight, accounting for 40% of a programme’s rank. 288 employers from 58 countries were surveyed and 12% of these were based in Denmark. Almost half of surveyed employers had global hiring responsibilities.
“It is pleasing to see that CBS and our MBAs are held in such a high regard by employers,” said Claire Hewitson, Head of Career Services for the CBS MBA. “Ultimately, what a prospective student is looking for when choosing an MBA programme is to become employable and sought-after in the job market, so aligning our efforts with what employers are looking for is crucial.”
Other areas in which the Copenhagen MBA performed well include academic reputation and student nationalities.
“Diversity is a key component of the Copenhagen MBA,” says Fatima Dhaif, Admissions Manager for the programme. “It is not unusual to have 15-20 nationalities in a classroom; individuals that join us from various corners of the world to make Copenhagen their home. Since our classes are relatively small, it is a unique opportunity to build a strong network of talented peers that span the globe.”
There is also a strong financial argument for considering the Copenhagen MBA: The investment can pay off sooner than a prospective student might expect. The QS Global MBA Ranking 2020 estimates that the 10-year return on investment for MBAs is USD 709,043, significantly greater than the global mean (USD 509,658). It further estimates that it takes 34 months or 2.8 years to fully payback the cost of the programme, against a global mean of 43 months or 3.6 years.
