AI has made much progress in the last few years. We understand less when people want to use it. In a new study published in Management Science, Thomas Lindner investigates how incentives and the way how AI support is framed for a decision-maker influences AI use. The paper is co-authored work with colleagues from the Cornell SC Johnson School of Business and the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The study uses experiments to unpack how and when decision-makers use AI support to make better decisions. Overall, more performance-based incentives and framing AI advice in human terms lead to stronger uptake of AI advice for decision-making. LINK
