Article for the Danish Power Inquiry Project: The EU’s influence in work-life balance policy

Caroline de la Porte contributes with article (in Danish) for the The Danish Democracy and Power Study, which was commissioned by the Parliament (Folketinget). The article shows that:
- The EU directive on work-life balance policy enabled a breakthrough in Denmark on earmarked paid parental leave
- The new Danish law on earmarked leave has led to enhanced use of parental leave across all social classes
- Based on this analysis, Caroline de la Porte argue that Danish labour market and political actors should view EU initiatives in this area as an opportunity, rather than a threat
