The vision of the Center for Civil Society Studies is to create original contribution to the sparse Danish civil society studies, which largely has worked with charities and voluntary. Our analysis will particularly focus on value creation and the many forms and norms of mutual relations between stakeholders that such value creation requires. By making use of a comparative research perspective - primarily with material from the United States as well as from neighboring countries, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway and Sweden - we will both benefit from the experience of other countries, and identify specific Danish conditions and phenomena, challenges and opportunities.

Organizationally, there will be a virtual center without walls, where contact is established between Danish and foreign researchers in the form of seminar activities, conferences and collaborate on specific projects. Network organization gets its administrative and managerial focus at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), with an advisory board consisting of 3 international capabilities and a reference group with representatives of the donor community.

In addition to Anker Brink Lund as managing director and research manager, MA. & PhD Liv Egholm Feldt will be coordinating the historical dimension of the research center and journalist & PhD Gitte Meyer will handle the publistic angles of the center. The center will further include 8-10 visiting scientists, 3 postdoctoral fellows, 4 PhD students, along with research assistants and student assistants.
