As part of the Danish government’s agenda for attracting foreign labour, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is to open a so-called ‘Work-in-Denmark Center’.

For an amount of approximately EUR ½ million annually, the Danish Ministry for Foreign Affairs is to start a ‘Work-in-Denmark Center’ towards the eastern countries to make it more attractive to travel to Denmark to work. It will be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for foreign labour as well as for Danish companies and organisations where the main part of the case handling can be gathered in one place, writes Berlingske Business.

There is no exact information so far about where the centre is to be located but according to sources within the foreign ministry it will probably be in Asia.

The new centre which is to be attached to a selected embassy will have four staff including one person from the Danish Immigration Service to make the visa and job search less complicated for potential applicants. The pilot project is expected fully able-bodied during the second quarter of 2008.
