Many businesses are eager to hire workers from abroad according to a recent article in Copenhagen Post

Danish businesses are looking to hire more foreign workers to ease the current labour shortage, with every third company expecting to employ someone from abroad within the next year, according to a study by the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI).

The 400-company survey also revealed that 75 percent of the 150 businesses with foreign employees already in their workforce are preparing to hire more over the next 12 months.

Tina Honoré Kongsø, economic advisor with DI, said the numbers are encouraging for the organisation’s ‘Plan B’, which aims to increase foreign labour in Denmark by 25,000 employees over the next few years.

‘Once businesses have initially hired a foreign worker, it often results in them seeking to hire even more,’ Kongsø told Jyllands-Posten newspaper. ‘It’s a self-strengthening process that is beneficial for the entire job market.’
