This is a unique programme which each year brings 20-25 CEOs from China's largest firms to the University of Cambridge for a three-week training programme, taught by a combination of academics and the leaders of international firms. The Cambridge programme is followed by 4-5 day study tour to Copenhagen Business School where the CEOs are being taught about the Scandinavian model and the emergence and functioning of the welfare state and have strategic discussion with CEOs from major Danish companies such as A.P. Møller-Mærsk. Through this programme CBS has developed close links with Peter Nolan and his research theme at Cambridge University as well as established unique contacts with top leaders in the Chinese corporate world.
In sum, Peter Nolan has made enormous contributions to the study of China, Chinese business and its role in the global big business revolution. He has also made significant contributions to the study of transitional economies and emerging markets. Peter Nolan has been instrumental in developing a unique programme which brings academics and business leaders in Cambridge and Copenhagen together with top leaders in the Chinese business world.
Peter Nolan will give a professional seminar and receive his honorary doctorate at a ceremony at CBS on 2 June 2009.
