This doctoral dissertation investigates the idiosyncratic behaviors of family firms and contributes to an understanding of how family ownership affects the ways in which firms internationalize. Specifically, the dissertation considers how non-financial dimensions of ownership influence foreign direct investment (FDI) within the context of international acquisitions.
