Transformation design: narrating social change

CBS Entrepreneurship Platform and MPP welcome you to a workshop with Harald Welzer

Mandag, 17 november, 2014 - 11:30 to 18:00

Renowned German sociologist, social psychologist and public intellectual Harald Welzer will present and discuss his FUTURZWEI initiative: a "foundation for future viability" that collects and tells contemporary stories of economic, social and cultural change. Through these stories, and their presentation as books, films, podcasts and media cooperations, FUTURZWEI seeks to infiltrate public communication with issues of transition, degrowth as well as sustainable lifestyles and politics. In the workshop, MPP scholars will respond and further the discussion by way of their research and change projects in the areas of social and sustainable entrepreneurship as well as post-growth economies.

Apart from transformation research, Harald Welzers primary research areas are political psychology, climate and culture, memory and group violence. Before starting FUTURZWEI, he headed the Center for Interdisciplinary Memory Research at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities Essen (KWI) and was a professor for social psychology at Witten/Herdecke University.
