Move your references from RefWorks to Mendeley
The CBS subscription to RefWorks will expire October 31 2017. If you use RefWorks and also plan to use a reference tool by October and beyond, we recommend that you switch to Mendeley and move your references from RefWorks into Mendeley.
Mendeley and RefWorks are similar but Mendeley has some extra features. We think it's easy to use, and you don’t have to worry about moving to Mendeley.
Mendeley has made a “How to migrate from RefWorks to Mendeley”-guide that will guide you safely through the process. Go to PDF guide.
In the CBS Library LibGuides you can find a guide that covers every facet of Mendeley and the transition from RefWorks. Go to the Mendeley LibGuide.
Already a Mendeley user
If you are already a Mendeley user and used your CBS e-mail address when signing up, you are automatically included in the CBS Institutional license that launched in early January.
If you are a Mendeley user but signed up with an e-mail other than a CBS e-mail, all you need to do is change the e-mail address in Mendeley and join the Copenhagen Business School Library Group to get access to the enhanced institutional account.
Get started if you haven’t used reference management before
If you never used a reference management tool, this is the chance to get started with Mendeley
We recommend that you get started with Mendeley. It will help you to keep track of all the references and sources that you use in your assignments. You can download references into your system while you searching for literature, save PDFs, make correct references in your texts and make perfect bibliographies in a jiffy.
New opportunities with Mendeley
Most reference management tools do the exact same job in very similar ways. Some tools, however, offer extra and enhanced features and Mendeley is a very good case in point.
- Works very smoothly in MS Word
- Easy navigation
- Add notes, underline, comment etc in PDF documents
- Create groups, private or public, and share interesting references
- Follow top researchers and groups within your fields of interest
