My research focuses on the field of IS security. More specifically, I have written several journal articles on the insider threat posed by employee computer crime. I am interested in understanding this problem from the offender’s perspective and use a group of criminological theories, which help to explain the actual criminal act. My research further examines how a group of crime prevention techniques and tools can be applied for the organisational context when addressing employee computer crime. More recently my work has branched out to encompass research in the areas of software piracy and international security standards.
