CBS is hiring new department heads

Following a lengthy process with the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, CBS will now be hiring department heads for the following seven departments:

• Department of Business and Politics
• Department of Strategic Management and Globalization
• Department of Marketing
• Department of Operations Management
• Department of Accounting and Auditing
• Law Department
• Department of Economics

The positions expired in the past year but have been extended until the end of 2015.

The positions are being advertised in Danish and international media and the application deadline is 21 September 2015. A single common job ad lists the seven individual positions, where a general job profile and a fact sheet for each department are available to potential applicants.

The process will be identical for all seven positions. An appointment committee is set up for each position with representatives from the relevant department's academic and technical-administrative staff, students and one of the current heads of department. The Dean of Research will chair all appointment committees. HR will also participate in the appointment committees and support the process administratively.

All appointment committees will meet on 28 August 2015 for a joint workshop to discuss and establish criteria for the selection of potential candidates and exchange ideas for interview guides.

After the first round of interviews, a small number of applicants will be selected for a test and for the second round of interviews, which the President also will participate in. The goal is to conclude the process at the beginning of December. Determining when individual candidates can take up their positions will depend on the candidates and their background.

Mercuri Urval A/S, a consultancy, will assist CBS in the appointment process.
