MPP is one of the largest research departments at CBS with approximately 75 faculty members, 6 professional staff members, and a fluctuating number of student assistants. We are located at Porcelænshaven 18B, Frederiksberg.
The department - in Danish known as Institut for Ledelse, Politik og Filosofi (LPF) - was formed in 1995 with the objective to undertake research and teaching in the management area understood in a broad sense (Management and Leadership). MPP has been characterised by its focus on problems surrounding management that can be observed in the boundary regions between business, politics, history and philosophy.
The vision of MPP is to continuously renew ourselves as a creative-critical research and educational environment that engages with contemporary societal challenges and provides a central force in establishing CBS as a genuine Business University with clear social sciences and humanities edges.
MPP operates and wishes to be characterized as an interdisciplinary research department that creates engaged learning and knowledge at the intersections of management, social sciences and humanities. Thus MPP wishes to create as well as apply such interdisciplinary knowledge in courses and programs, projects and partnerships involving students, business representatives, as well as public organization employees. The multidisciplinary character of MPP caters for the engagement of many different but overlapping networks within research as well as in society enabling MPP to be the platform for a network of networks. Our aim is to impact, intervene and innovate managerial, organizational, and entrepreneurial practices in business as well as public organization contexts.
