A practitioner who surpasses the ordinary with a sense of commitment that goes far beyond the boardroom. CBS welcomes Jim Hagemann Snabe, a major international expert, on 21 November 2016, when he will be named adjunct professor and hold his inaugural lecture, titled: “The fourth industrial revolution: The role of leadership in setting the direction for renewal of business strategy, organization and society”.

“We’re proud to have an experienced international leader like Jim at CBS. His efforts in the World Economic Forum are closely in tune with CBS’ Business-in-Society strategy. We look forward to drawing on Jim’s knowledge in the classroom and in our research environments,” affirms CBS President Per Holten-Andersen.

Snabe has experience from an impressive list of places, including: SAP, Allianz, Siemens, Mærsk, Bang & Olufsen and the World Economic Forum. He was the co-CEO of SAP and a member of the board at the other companies.

Snabe has worked with the development of new technologies, developing companies and with innovation processes. He has involved himself in matters relating to the contributions business and industry can make regarding the most pressing issues facing the global community. He does this primarily through his active participation in the World Economic Forum, where he is a member of its Board of Trustees and a member of its Managing Board.

Professor Majken Schultz, who is on the faculty at the CBS Department of Organization, has worked with Snabe and recommended him for the position of adjunct professor. “He’s a living example of business meets society. Moreover, he’s an excellent communicator when it comes to the challenges the fourth revolution involves. It’s important to get talented people out of the boardroom and close to students,” she says, explaining the reason for choosing him.

Jim Hagemann Snabe’s inaugural lecture will be about leadership in the fourth industrial revolution.
