Presentation

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Society and Communication, with a background in political science and trans-national governance (especially related to the European Union).  Within the Department, I am part of the Sustainability Governance group.  Although much of my existing work is related to the European Union and its policy-making processes, I joined this Department to develop my research in the area of political economy of green transitions. I am currently working on a number of projects related to: 1) the EU regulatory framework for sustainable development; 2) the social, economic and institutional enablers of green transition; 3) Temporal discounting in public policy (especially in environmental policymaking) and 4) The entrepreneurial green state. Methodologically, I am mostly a quantitative scholar using cross-sectional, longitudinal and experimental data, but some part of my work is based on qualitative data.

Primary research areas
  • Behavioural public policy
  • Institutional and Policy processes in the European Union
  • Political economy of market integration and regulation
  • Institutional, social and economic enablers of low-carbon transitions
  • The entrepreneurial green state
