He has published extensively on degrowth transformations, on the profound changes in how public authorities in Europe regulate competition and on how companies use corporate networks to control markets. Another longstanding interest is philosophy of science perspectives, esp. critical realism. His most recent book, Critical Realism. Basics and Beyond (co-authored by Peter Nielsen) was awarded the 2021 Cheryl Frank Memorial Prize.
